T&F: Cardinals Push Through Hosted Invitational

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Track and Field team hosted their first indoor meet of the season inside the Clements/Rike Center across Saturday action at the Otterbein Invitational.
 
The meet was led by freshman jumper Alexis Weber, which ended up being more of a showdown against Shawnee State and Ohio Christian, put the Cardinals on top with 98 points on the men's side and 97 on the women's.
 
Men's Track Highlights:
  • In the 5000-meter run, sophomore Payne Ratliff won with a PR time of 15:29.
     
  • Izaac Swope won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.82
     
  • Cameron Christopher won the one mile run out of 25 runners in a time of 4:30.
     
  • Shamar Brittman claimed the 200-meter with a 23.62 finish and placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.33 seconds
     
  • Logan Dodd achieved the second place in the 500-meter run, clocking in at 1:13.
     
  • Mitch Green claimed the second spot in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:01
     
  • John Nice secured the second position in the 3000-meter run, completing it in 8:39
 
In the Field:
  • Freshman Jordan Blankson won the shot put with a mark of 41' 10"
     
  • Colton Ruff broke his pervious school record of 39' 10"  with mark of 39' 11" in weight throw
     
  • Freshman Richmond Honkpo won the long jump with a mark of 23' 2¾"
     
  • Senior Noah Boger led the triple jump with a mark of 41' 5¾"
     
  • Freshman Joseph Hill won in the pole vault, successfully clearing a height of 13' 11¼".
     
  • In the high jump, Sophomore Devon Bellomy came in second with a height of 5' 10¾"
 
Women's Track Highlights:  
In the Field:
  • For the second week in a row, freshman Alexis Weber won the long jump with a mark of 17' 11¾", on top of her high jump performance that broke the school record at a height of 5' 6.25", which will qualify her for nationals.
     
  • Junior Ravyn Goodson won the shot put and weight throw with a best throw of 36' 0" and 46' 8"
     
  • Sophomore Peyton Proffitt won pole vault with a clearance of 11' 9¾"
 
Back On The Road:
 
The team will head over to New Concord to compete in Muskingum Invitational on Saturday morning.
