WESTERVILLE – Otterbein swept the Ohio Athletic Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week awards this week. Sophomore Caleb Rafferty was named Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, and freshman Brenna Lay was named Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 21-27.

The recognition comes after Rafferty and Lay led the Cardinals in their respective races at the Wright State Wild Bill Invitational on Friday.

Payne finished ninth of 56 runners in the men's 8K race with a time of 26:14. The Cardinal men scored 65 points and placed third in the five-team field.

Lay finished eighth of 42 runners in the women's 6K race with a time of 23:17. With only four runners competing, Ottrebein did not post a team score.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Hillcrest Golf Club in Findlay. The women's 6K race begins at 11 a.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 12 p.m.
