Ratliff, See earn All-Region honors as Men's Cross Country places 10th at NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regionals

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - Junior Payne Ratliff and freshman Tucker See earned All-Region honors to lead the Otterbein men's cross country team to a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday.

The Basics

  • Hosted by Franklin College, the 8K Regional Championships meet was held at Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Ind.

  • The top 35 finishers earned All-Great Lakes Region recognition.
  • The race served as the official qualifier for the NCAA Division III Championships meet, which is scheduled for Nov. 23 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. The top team in each of the 10 region championship meets earns an automatic bid to the national meet while the remaining 22 teams will be picked at large. In addition, 70 individuals (the top seven finishers from each region who are not part of a qualifying team) will be selected to compete in the national meet. The 2024 Division III men's cross country selections will be released on Sunday on NCAA.com.

Race Results

  • The Cardinals scored 281 points and placed 10th of 42 teams.
  • Calvin won the region team title with 99 points to claim the automatic bid to the national meet. John Carroll placed second with 112 points, and Hope was third with 129 points.
  • Wabash's Brayden Curnutt won the individual region title, running a time of 24:36.

  • Ratliff led the way for the Cardinals, placing 14th in the 283-man field with a time of 25:16.
  • See finished 33rd with a time of 25:46.
  • Sophomore Mitch Green finished 45th with a time of 26:01.
  • Junior Chase Jackson finished 87th with a time of 26:44.
  • Junior Drew Osler finished 102nd with a time of 26:53.
  • Sophomore Caleb Rafferty finished 108th with a time of 27:00.
  • Junior Jonny Powers finished 117th with a time of 27:07.
