A corner 3-pointer put the Presidents up 13-8 with 2:19 left, and another triple extended the lead to 18-9 with 56 seconds remaining. W&J took that 18-9 edge into the second quarter thanks largely to its 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range.

The Presidents made two more triples for a 27-9 edge with 6:02 remaining. Irby ended the Cardinal scoring drought with a pair of free throws with 5:12 left, cutting the deficit to 27-11. Trailing 32-16 with 2:47 left, Otterbein closed the quarter on a 5-0 run, getting a pair of free throws from Irby and an and-1 from Waskiewicz to go into halftime trailing 32-21. Walburn paced the Cardinals in scoring with five points in the first half. W&J was 8-of-16 from beyond the arc over the first 20 minutes, while Otterbein was 7-of-13 from the foul line.
  • Third Quarter: W&J opened up a 36-21 lead, but the Cardinals continually chipped away at that advantage. Trailing 40-27 with 6:14 left, Otterbein put together a 14-6 run to end the quarter to close the gap to just five, 46-41, going into the fourth. The Cardinals cut the deficit to as little as one, 42-41, on a 3-pointer from Irby with 1:21 left. Irby scored seven points in that scoring run to go with three from King and two each from Waskiewicz and sophomore Abby Rawlings.
  • Fourth Quarter: The Presidents extended their lead to 13, 60-47, on a 3-pointer with 3:20 left in the game and outscored the Cardinals 22-10 overall in the period to close out the victory. Six of the Cardinals' 13 turnovers in the game came in the final period.
