Park, Bell post top-8 finishes as Women's Indoor Track and Field opens season at Findlay Oiler Opener

FINDLAY — Freshmen Gabby Park and Carlisha Bell posted top-eight finishes to lead the Otterbein women's indoor track and field team as it opened its season on Thursday and Friday at the Findlay Oiler Opener.

The Basics

Venue: Malcolm Athletic Center - Findlay, Ohio
The meet included the pentathlon, which was contested on Thursday, while all the remaining track and field events were contested on Friday. Junior Charlie Dolliver represented Otterbein in the pentathlon.
Otterbein scored four points and tied for eighth in the 10-team field.
Findlay won the team title with 169 points. Hillsdale was second with 116.5 points, and Windsor was third with 64.5 points.

Otterbein's Top Performers

Long Jump: Park made her collegiate debut, finishing sixth with a mark of 4.59 meters on her fourth attempt.
Triple Jump: Bell also made her debut, finishing eighth with a distance of 10.11 meters.
Shot Put: Freshman Anastasia Smith placed 13th with a mark of 11.16 meters.
Pole Vault: Freshman Rylea Durham was 13th with a mark of 2.52 meters.
Pentathlon: Dolliver finished 14th of 19 in the pentathlon, scoring 2,634 points overall. By event, she was ninth in the high jump (1.44 meters), 10th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.83 seconds), 14th in the long jump (4.79 meters) and and 15th in both the shot put (7.40 meters) and 800 (2:49.33).

Notables

Dolliver's score in the pentathlon ranks second all-time at Otterbein. Alexis Snyder ranks first with her 3,025 points from 2018. In the pentathlon, Dolliver set a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a previous best time of 10.03 seconds.
