FINAL RESULTS
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – At long last, the Otterbein Track and Field program was able to compete on campus this outdoor season by hosting its annual Twilight Meet across a full Friday in/around Memorial Stadium.
The Cardinals ended up besting the list of 20 teams (19 schools) represented in some fashion with 101 points, just ahead of Division II Tiffin in second place at 93. Otterbein hosted a nice rundown of varsity events and then some lighthearted/informal competitions to welcome back alums.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Alexis Weber contributed 22 points herself toward the overall team total by winning the triple jump (35-3 ½, 10.76m), taking runner-up in the long jump at 17-5 ½ (5.32m) and fifth in the high jump (5-5 ¾). She tied a few competitors above in the latter event but was scored fifth after missing once.
Â
- Ravyn Goodson (120-6) won the discus to best the field of 18, and then also secured a new personal best in the hammer (not the tool) at 125-10… more than three feet past her previous best. That effort translated to a sixth-place finish in a strong field of 18.
Â
- Charlie Dolliver (34-5 ½) was second behind Weber in the triple, while household name Peyton Proffitt also posted a runner-up finish to grab another eight points for the team. She was second of nearly 20 pole vaulters early in the day, registering 12-0 (3.66 meters).
Â
- Otterbein had three scorers in the javelin, led by Peyton Carpenter throwing 101-1 (30.82m) in third place. Olivia Kahoun just missed triple digits at 99-9 and settled just behind her teammate in fourth.
Â
- Early in the running portion, the meet enjoyed Heather's Super Silly Steeplechase inspired/sponsored by former distance standout Heather Sandvik. There was also the Alumni Mile and 4x1 relay!
Â
- Speaking of that one-lap relay, the varsity quartet of Brooke Hamilton, Assir Yisrael, Rachel Bollo and Eden Edenfield combined to finish third in 54.48 seconds.
Â
- Three Cardinals finished in the top eight of the mile, which featured more than 30 competitors. Alyssa Mattis churned out a runner-up finish in 5:28.
Â
- Emma Klosterman was sixth in the high jump while Amanda Radke took the same in the long jump.
Â
- To conclude the meet, the 4x4 squad of Rachel Bollo, Josey Johnson, Genevieve Legawiec and Yisrael ran 4:14 in a condensed field of just a few teams.
Â
THE WEEKS AHEAD:
- Otterbein has the Ashland Alumni Open on the schedule next week in a final preparation for the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted this year May 2-3 at Heidelberg.
