WESTERVILLE – Otterbein freshman goalkeeper
Jason Villalobos was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, sponsored by Midstream Lighting, for the week of Sept. 23-29.
This marks the third time Villalobos has earned the accolade this season.
The latest recognition comes after he recorded a pair of shutouts as Otterbein battled to scoreless draws against No. 3 Kenyon (5-0-3 overall) on Friday and at Denison (5-1-3 overall) on Sunday. He recorded a combined five saves in the two games.
On the season, Villalobos boasts six shutouts, including in each of his past four games, 28 saves and a 0.89 GAA. His shutout total leads the OAC.
The Cardinals (4-3-2 overall) return to action on Saturday hosting Mount Union at 6 p.m. to open their OAC schedule.
