Men's Soccer secures a 1-0 victory over Hanover after multiple weather delays

WESTERVILLE — Men's Soccer starts their weekend series with a 1-0 win over Hanover, thanks to Nick Isaac's decisive solo goal. The match was delayed twice before eventually kicking off over two hours later.

The Basics:
  • Records: Otterbein (2-1-0 overall), Hanover (1-2-0 overall)
  • Weather: Rainy, dark and fall temperatures (High 60's)
  • Venue: Memorial Stadium - Westerville, Ohio
The Match:
  • After a rain delay before the teams began warming up led to a 90-minute wait, another storm arrived, causing an additional 30-minute delay before the teams could resume their warm-ups and start the game.
  • In the sixth minute of the game, Issac performs some fancy display of footwork to maneuver around Hanover's defender and scores the game-winning goal from the five-yard line.
  • Otterbein had 13 shots in the first half alone with six shots on goal.
  • The second half of the match was highly charged, featuring three yellow cards and a total of 16 fouls.
  • Hanover came out strong in the second half, but Otterbein's defenders limited them to just four shots in that period and eight shots overall.
Notables:
  • In his eighth season with the program, Head Coach Jason Griffiths now holds an overall record of 84-33-12.
  • Otterbein leads the overall series with a 5-2 record against the team since 2017.
  • Nick Isaac adds his seventh goal to his career
