Women's Indoor Track and Field wins 4-team Otterbein Invite

WESTERVILLE — The Otterbein women's indoor track and field team won the four-team Otterbein Invite on Saturday, scoring 179 points.

The Basics

Venue: Clements Recreation and Fitness Center and The Rike Center - Westerville, Ohio
Saturday's meet was Otterbein's first since opening its season at the Findlay Oiler Opener on Dec. 5-6.
Otterbein won the four-team meet, scoring 179 points. Transylvania (Ky.) was second with 63 points, Ohio Dominican was third with 39 points, and Capital was fourth with 31 points.

Otterbein's Top Performers - Running Events

Women's 1 Mile Run: Senior Alyssa Mattis secured first place with a time of 5:23.80, while junior Lauren Gram finished close behind in third at 5:27.46.
Women's 60m Hurdles: Junior Charlie Dolliver delivered a strong performance, taking first place with a time of 10.22 seconds. Fellow junior Kayla Bruce followed in third, finishing in 11.29 seconds.
Women's 400 Meters: Freshman Mallory Bostick claimed first place with a time of 1:04.20, and Bruce secured fifth in 1:11.15.
Women's 3000 Meters: Freshman Maggie Poor placed second with a time of 11:38.89, followed by freshman Kennedy Helton in sixth at 12:03.09 and junior Rachel Ziel in ninth at 12:16.13.
Women's 4x400m Relay: Otterbein's "A" team placed second with a time of 4:35.51 with sophomores Genevieve Legawiec, Assir Yisrael and Allie Mongold, and Bostick. In third was Otterbein's "B" team running a 4:49.30 with sophomore Ava Stratmann, Mattis, junior Lauren Gram and freshman Ryanne Benner.
Women's 60 Meters: Freshman Natalie Nichols finished fifth with a time of 8.29 seconds.
Women's 200 Meters: Yisrael placed fifth with a time of 27.67 seconds, narrowly edging out Nichols, who finished sixth in 27.71 seconds.

Otterbein's Top Performers - Field Events

Women's Shot Put: The Cardinals dominated the shot put, with seven athletes placing in the top eight out of 15 competitors. Freshman Anastasia Smith led the charge, delivering her season's best throw of 11.57m on her first attempt to claim first place. Freshman Tori McGowan followed in second with a throw of 11.02m, while freshman Kendra Detillion took third with 10.92m. Senior Peyton Carpenter landed in fourth with a mark of 10.78m. Rounding out the group, senior Ravyn Goodson placed sixth with 10.48m on her first attempt, sophomore Landry Driskel came in seventh, throwing 10.48m on her second attempt, and junior Eden Edenfield secured eighth with a throw of 10.20m.
Women's Weight Throw: Goodson continued her strong performance, taking first in the weight throw with a mark of 13.94m. Sophomore Amelia Dailey secured second with a throw of 13.69m, while Detillion placed fourth at 12.46m. Freshman Landry Driskel contributed to the team's success, finishing sixth with a throw of 11.96m.
Women's Triple Jump: Dolliver claimed first place with a mark of 10.34m on her fifth attempt.
Women's Long Jump: Freshman Gabby Park overcame four consecutive fouls to finish strong, jumping 4.62m to earn second place. Sophomore Madison Gray secured third with a leap of 4.47m.
Women's Pole Vault: Freshman Rylea Durham cleared 2.70m on her third attempt to finish third.

Notables

Goodson ranks second on the program's all-time weight throw leaderboard with a mark of 14.44m achieved in 2024.
Dailey is now tied for fourth on the all-time weight throw list, and Detillion is now tied for ninth.
Dolliver ranks seventh on the program's all-time triple jump leaderboard with a mark of 10.44m achieved in 2024.
