WESTERVILLE – The Otterbein University men's soccer team turned in a dominant performance Saturday afternoon, blanking Muskingum 3-0 inside Memorial Stadium.
The matchup doubled as Senior Day, as the Cardinals honored Nate Erre, Colm Oneacre, Nick Isaac, Jacob Irani, Drew Boettcher, Michael Wynn, Kasdin Hale, Patrick Ahrens, and Giuseppe Maida prior to kickoff.
Otterbein controlled the tempo from start to finish, posting 23 total shots (12 on goal) while holding the Muskies without a shot on frame.
The Cardinals broke through late in the first half when freshman Xavier Stocks fired from close range, and senior Kasdin Hale followed up the deflection for the opening goal in the 35th minute.
Otterbein kept its foot on the gas after intermission, with senior Nick Isaac drilling a strike through the defense from the right side at the 80:51 mark to make it 2-0. Just two minutes later, freshman Lincoln Wallace capped the scoring—beating defenders outside the box and slotting home his goal in the 83rd minute.
Otterbein also finished with three corner kicks while forcing Muskingum keeper Jack Thamann into nine saves.
