Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Three score in men's soccer's road win over Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio – Backed by a stellar offensive performance, the Otterbein University men's soccer team delivered a 3-0 victory over Marietta College. The win moves the Cardinals to 1-0-1 on the young OAC season.

Otterbein struck for their first goal of the evening in the 12th minute. Freshman Lincoln Wallace's incredible season continued with his team-leading seventh goal of the season. Eli Traber headed the ball right to Wallace, who played it off the bounce and knocked it past the Marietta goalkeeper for the early advantage.

The 1-0 lead would hold into halftime. Out of the break, the Cardinals wasted no time getting back on the board off a goal from Nate Erre. A long throw in found the feet of Erre, who scored a tremendous goal. With his back turned to the net, Erre flicked the ball to the lower corner of the goal for a 2-0 lead in the 48th minute.

Otterbein sealed the win in the 63rd minute when Xavier Stocks netted his first collegiate goal. Awarded a free kick just to the right of the box, Nick Isaac played a perfect ball into Stocks who hammered home the shot for a 3-0 advantage.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jason Villalobos needed to make just one save to pick up the clean sheet.

The Cardinals held a significant edge in shots (19-6) and corners (10-3).

Otterbein returns home on Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff against Baldwin Wallace University
