Men's soccer to host Wilmington in OAC Semifinals

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Earning a first round bye for the first time since 2023, the Otterbein University men's soccer team has locked up the No. 2 seed for the OAC Tournament. The Cardinals will host a semifinal game on Thursday, Nov. 6 at Memorial Stadium, when the team welcomes the No. 3 seed Wilmington. The Quakers defeated Capital Tuesday night 1-1 (3-2 PKs).

SCOUTING No. 2 OTTERBEIN (10-2-5, 6-1-1): Freshman Lincoln Wallace has been tremendous all season long, leading the team with 12 goals. Nick Isaac has also been a key to the offensive prowess, turning in seven goals and eight assists to this point.13 different players have scored goals this season for the Cardinals, proving to be a threat from anywhere on the field. Grad transfer Nate Erre leads a back line that has allowed just five goals in OAC play.

SCOUTING No. 3 WILMINGTON (13-4-3, 6-2): Wilmington advanced in thrilling fashion, with goalkeeper Erik Axelsson notching a pair of saves during Tuesday's shootout. Sophomore Parker Burke leads the Wilmington offense, scoring 14 goals and adding four assists this season. Jordan Domoe has also been a Quaker threat, adding eight goals and seven assists.

When the two teams met on Oct. 15 in Wilmington, the Cardinals came away with a 3-1 victory. Two of the usual suspects for each team – Isaac and Burke – netted goals within a minute of each other before Drew Boettcher's 67th minute strike was the game-winner. Erre added an insurance goal in the 75th minute for the Cardinals.

In the other semifinal game, Mount Union will travel to Ohio Northern.
