Men's soccer looks to defend OAC Tournament Championship

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Advancing with a 4-1 win over Wilmington in the semifinals, the Otterbein University men's soccer team will take on No. 24 Ohio Northern in the OAC Tournament Championship. The Cardinals look to defend their OAC Tournament title from a season ago, but will have a tall task against the Regular Season Champion Polar Bears.

SCOUTING No. 2 OTTERBEIN (11-2-5, 6-1-1): The Cardinals used three second half goals to cruise past Wilmington on Thursday. After an own goal in the first half, the Cardinals held a 1-0 lead at the break. The Quakers found the equalizer three minutes into the second half, but Jacob Irani's game-winner and insurance strikes from freshmen Lincoln Wallace and Xavier Stocks vaulted Otterbein into the championship game.

SCOUTING No. 1 OHIO NORTHERN (12-0-6, 6-0-2): Ohio Northern rolled through the regular season unbeaten and extended that streak to 18 games with a convincing 4-1 win over Mount Union in the semifinals on Thursday. Miles Armstrong had a hand in all four Polar Bear goals, accounting for two goals and a pair of assists.

It will serve as a rematch of last year's OAC Semifinal game, where the Cardinals advanced 1-1, (5-4 PKs). In the regular season contest in Westerville, ONU snapped an 11-match unbeaten streak by edging out the Cardinals, 1-0.
