Game Highlights
  • TOP 2: After a scoreless first inning, Otterbein scored the first run of the game following a one-out single from Monokandilos. He advanced to second on a sac bunt and went to third when freshman Daniel Uhl reached based via an OWU fielding error. Monokandilos then scored on a double steal as Uhl swiped second base.
  • TOP 3: The Cardinals plated two more runs in their half of the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. Graduate student Jamie Perebzak drew a leadoff walk and advanced to third on a double from Ullom. An RBI sac fly from Greenlief scored Perebzak and advanced Ullom to third. Ullom then scored on the next at-bat courtesy of an RBI sac fly from senior Zac Taylor.
  • BOTTOM 3: The Bishops answered with a run to get within 3-1 in the bottom of the third. With one out, OWU followed back-to-back singles with a double that plated the run before Heagen induced a strikeout and groundout to end the frame with runners on second and third.
  • TOP 7: The Cardinals added to their lead following a one-out single from McCann. Perebzak followed by reaching base on a hit-by-pitch, and Greenlief added a two-out RBI single that plated McCann, making the score 4-1.
  • BOTTOM 7: Junior Andrew Nemec pitched a 1-2-3 frame, recording a flyout in between a pair of groundouts to keep Otterbein up by three.
  • TOP 8: The Otterbein offense kept humming in the eighth inning, scoring seven more runs. With runners on second and third and no outs, Monokandilos hit an RBI single and proceeded to steal second base. With runners on second and third, junior Caleb Bond drew a walk to load the bases. The next batter, Uhl, reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second as Monokandilos and Brown came home with the help of an OWU error. The Bishops induced a double play to get two outs in the next at-bat, but the Cardinals continued finding success. Perebzak singled to score Uhl, and, after an OWU pitching change, Ullom doubled to put runners on second and third. Greenlief loaded the bases when he was hit by a pitch, and freshman Calvin Mabry followed with an RBI walk. The next batter, Brown, hit a 2-RBI single to put Otterbein up 11-1.
  • BOTTOM 8: Entering the game at the start of the half-inning, graduate student Luke Perigo pitched a 1-2-3 frame, recording a strikeout sandwiched between two groundouts to send the game to the ninth.
  • BOTTOM 9: The Bishops capped the scoring in the bottom of the ninth after loading the bases with one out. A 2-RBI single cut the Cardinals' lead to 11-3 before senior Connor Prince induced a game-ending double play.
  • Otterbein out-hit OWU by a 13-6 margin. The Bishops committed three errors while the Cardinals were error-free.
