Ehrbar scores twice as Cardinals top Franciscan, Koons hits 350 wins

Box Score WESTERVILLE – The Otterbein University women's soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over Franciscan on Saturday afternoon, marking a milestone 350th career win for head coach Brandon Koons.

Senior Rae Ehrbar got the Cardinals on the board early, slotting home a finish in the fourth minute to give Otterbein the advantage. The 1-0 margin held through halftime, as the Cardinals tallied seven shots while holding the Barons to five attempts.

Ehrbar doubled the lead just five minutes into the second half, drawing a foul in the box and burying the penalty for her second goal of the day. Franciscan pulled one back in the 77th minute on a penalty of its own, but Otterbein's defense held firm down the stretch to secure the milestone win.

The Cardinals outshot the Barons 17-10 overall, including a 6-3 edge on frame. Senior goalkeeper Ella Schwertfager made a pair of saves in net.

Otterbein will return to action Tuesday evening, Sept. 23, traveling to Wittenberg for another non-conference matchup.
