Box Score GAMBIER, Ohio – The Otterbein men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw at Kenyon on Tuesday night, using a pair of second-half goals to secure the non-conference result.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Owls struck first in the 55th minute. The Cardinals responded shortly after when senior Drew Boettcher delivered a corner from the right side. A Kenyon defender headed the ball clear, but senior Nick Isaac gathered and fired from outside the box, sneaking his shot through traffic and into the left side of the net at 59:00.
Kenyon regained the lead just four minutes later, capitalizing on a chance in the 63rd minute. Otterbein had the final answer midway through the half, starting with a long throw-in that was redirected toward the back post. Senior Kasdin Hale kept the sequence alive, crossing in for freshman Lincoln Wallace. Wallace's initial shot was blocked on the line, but he stayed with the play and buried the rebound to tie the match at 68:50.
Otterbein held a slight 13-12 edge in shots, with both teams earning six corners. The Cardinals placed five attempts on target, and sophomore goalkeeper Jason Villalobos made two saves to help preserve the draw.
The Cardinals will return home on September 27 to host Case Western Reserve at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
