Women's golf opens play at Shenandoah

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.V. – On day one of the Shenandoah Invitational, the Otterbein University women's golf team shot a 332. Sophomore Alayna Meyer was stellar, shooting a 74 (+2). She currently is in second place heading into Sunday.

As a team, Otterbein shot a 332 and is in eighth place in the 13-team field. Eight strokes separate the second through eighth place squads after Saturday. 

Also landing in the top 30 was Morgan Wamer. The sophomore shot an 84. Two strokes behind Wamer was junior Aimee Hayes (86). Carding an 88, senior Alexa Luebbe was the next. Mia Chanthasene rounded out the Otterbein team with an 89 on the day. 

The Cardinals saw three compete as individuals – freshman Mia Lewis, Hailey McKenzie and Lauren Griffith. Lewis's 85 was the best of the trio, while McKenzie tallied an 89. Griffith's 96 rounded out all Otterbein players. 

Round two of the two-day tournament will take place on Sunday.
