Women's golf places second at OAC Fall Preview

FULL RESULTS | WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – Seeing a 10-stroke improvement from Saturday to Sunday, the Otterbein University women's golf team placed second at the OAC Fall Preview. The Cardinals shot a 319 on Sunday, 648 for the weekend, finishing four strokes back of Heidelberg.

After shooting an 81 on Saturday, Alayna Meyer led Otterbein with a 75 (+3) on Sunday, one stroke shy of her season-low. The sophomore carded a two-day total of 156 and finished third overall. Meyer was one of three Cardinals to finish in the top five, with Morgan Wamer and Alexa Luebbe placing fourth and fifth. Wamer shot a 79 on Sunday to finish the weekend with an 81-79 – 160, while Luebbe posted an 83-80 – 163 to take fifth. Luebbe's 80 in the second round tied a season-best for the senior.

Sophomore Mia Chanthasene shot an 85 Sunday to add to her 84 from Saturday. She totaled a 169 for the weekend to tie for ninth. With an 89, Aimee Hayes was 14th overall, shooting a two-day total of 85-89 – 174.

Mia Lewis, Hailey McKenzie and Lauren Griffith competed as individuals for the Cardinals. Lewis finished with an 87-90 – 177 and McKenzie recorded a 94-86 – 180. The 86 was a new season-low for McKenzie. Griffith shot a 92 on Sunday to round out the weekend.

The squad will be back in action Oct. 20-21 at the Wittenberg Fall Classic.
