Women's golf finishes play at Wittenberg Spring Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Otterbein University women's golf team competed at the Wittenberg Spring Classic over Sunday and Monday at Springfield Country Club, finishing sixth overall while improving its team score in the final round.

The Cardinals posted a two-day total of 676 (+100), shaving six strokes off their score after opening with a 341 and closing with a 335.

Senior Alexa Luebbe and sophomore Olivia Dickson led the way for Otterbein, each tying for 17th overall at +21. Luebbe recorded rounds of 80 and 85 to finish with a 165, while Dickson improved in the second round with an 81 after opening at 84 to also total 165.

Junior Aimee Hayes followed with a two-day total of 172 (+28), improving by six strokes on Monday with rounds of 89 and 83.

Sophomore Morgan Wamer finished at +31 (175) with rounds of 89 and 86, while sophomore Mia Chanthasene carded consistent rounds of 88-88 to finish at +32 (176).

Freshman Hailey McKenzie posted rounds of 91 and 87 to total 178 (+34), and freshman Mia Lewis rounded out the lineup with scores of 87 and 92 for a 179 (+35).

Otterbein will next compete at the OAC Championships, scheduled for May 1–3 at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.
