WESTERVILLE, Ohio – After a tremendous freshman campaign, Cameron Sparks has been named the D3hoops.com Region 7 Rookie of the Year, as announced on Monday morning. This comes on the heels of a historic season for the Otterbein women's basketball program. 

Sparks was named the OAC Rookie of the Year and was a Second Team honoree at the conclusion of the regular season. She started all 29 contests and ranked second on the team in scoring, contributing 9.9 points per game while shooting 47.3 percent from the floor. Her 8.5 rebounds per game were a team-best and ranked her second in the OAC.

Sparks was key to the Cardinals posting a 23-6 record and winning the first-ever OAC Tournament Championship in program history. Additionally, Otterbein won its first NCAA Tournament game, a 60-45 decision over Randolph-Macon where she scored 14 points and brought down 14 rebounds in the win.
