Five from women's track and field named Academic All-District

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Tuesday, the Otterbein University women's track and field team saw five members from its squad recognized by College Sports Communicators with Academic All-District accolades.

Charlie Dolliver, Amelia Dailey, Emmy Caton, Rachel Ziel and Abby Kobs were all named, with Dolliver and Dailey collecting their second straight Academic All-District honor.

Dolliver ended the year as an All-American in the indoor triple jump, leading the five selections. The recent graduate finished in the Top 50 regionally in the 60m hurdles (16th), pentathlon (fifth), 100m hurdles (sixth), 400m outdoor hurdles (22nd), indoor high jump (16th), indoor triple jump (fourth), outdoor long jump (22nd) and outdoor triple jump (third).

Dailey achieved Academic All-District status by ranking in the Top 50 in the region during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Dailey peaked at 48th in the weight throw and ended the year 12th in the region in the hammer throw.

Caton was selected in the pole vault, ranking 37th in the Great Lakes Region. Ziel earned a spot ranking 39th in the 10,000m run during the outdoor season. Kobs rounds out the selections with a 29th place showing in the region in the 3,000m steeplechase.

To be eligible, one must be a sophomore or higher in academic and athletic standing, hold a cumulative GPA of a 3.50 or better, and finish the year regionally ranked in the Top 50 in a single event (indoor or outdoor, per TFRRS).
