Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

No. 16 Otterbein falters at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – On the road against a tough DePauw opponent, the No. 16 Otterbein University men's soccer team suffered its first setback of the year, falling to the Tigers 2-1. 

In the 36th minute, Lincoln Wallace's third goal of the season gave the Cardinals a 1-0 edge. Wallace buried his shot to the lower left of the goal to provide the visitors the lead. Just minutes before the half, DePauw found the equalizer when Joey Vehovsky snuck a ball past Jayden Burdine. 

As the teams battled in the second half, the Tigers pulled ahead in the 68th minute. Aiden Heffner connected with Aidan Whitley for the game-winner. 

The Tigers held the advantage in shots (10-8) and had eight corner kicks compared to just one by Otterbein. The Cards move to 3-1-1 on the season while DePauw improves to a 6-1 mark. 

On Saturday, the Cardinals will square off against former OAC foe John Carroll at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff against the Blue Streaks is set for 7 p.m.
