Ancona, a fifth-year senior defender from West Chester (Lakota East), turned in a stellar week to help the women's soccer team win twice and lock up the Np. 3 seed in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament.
Ancona, with just one goal in her career entering the week, scored twice and assisted on two others as Otterbein outscored its opponents 6-1.
She began with a memorable two-score effort at Marietta, impressively bending a corner kick into the goal just three minutes in. She then assisted on a goal in the 74th minute and followed by rocketing a direct free-kick from 25 yards out into the back of the net with two minutes remaining.
Ancona also assisted on the game-winning goal at Mount Union Saturday night, finding teammate Jillian Strimbu on a corner kick in the 25th minute to put the Cards ahead for good.
