Thornton, a senior from Willard, turned in a strong offensive stretch to help the volleyball team win its second OAC Tournament title in program history. She had four quick kills in the quarterfinal match before catching fire later in the week.

Thornton delivered a 11-2-22 (.409) hitting line in a straight-set semifinal win over Heidelberg, and then regrouped to go 12-0-22 (.545) in the championship triumph over 18th-ranked Ohio Northern. She was named honorable mention All-OAC this week.
