MARIETTA, OHIO – The Otterbein University men’s soccer team fell 1-0 at Marietta College Wednesday evening in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action.

Marietta’s Ben Federici tallied the lone goal of the match for either side, scoring lower –left in the 26th minute off a long cross.

The Pioneers held an 18-14 shot advantage and took six corners compared to three for Otterbein.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kyle Ripma registered five saves for the Cardinals while Marietta keeper Bobby Thaxton came up with three.

The loss drops Otterbein to 3-9-2 on the season and 1-5 in OAC play, while the win bumps Marietta to 2-10-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the conference.

The Cardinals finish out the week at home, hosting Muskingum University Saturday afternoon at Clements Field. Starting time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
