WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Otterbein University women’s volleyball team won both matches at the Mount St. Joseph tri-match over the weekend, running its current winning-streak to a new program-record of 12 matches.
The Cardinals turned back Manchester College by scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-18 to open the afternoon before topping the host Lions in three sets by counts of 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.
Sophomore Annie Juenger led the way with 14 kills against Manchester while freshman Tabatha Piper handed out 30 assists.
Piper turned around to post a career-best 12 kills on 20 attacks in the Mount St. Joseph victory, while also distributing 26 assists. Juenger added ten kills while junior Ally Nagle recorded nine on 20 attempts.
Senior libero Lindsey Russell tallied 41 digs over the two matches, and now stands just 34 shy of moving into fourth-place on the Ohio Athletic Conference all-time list.
The team faces a crucial final week of the regular season, hosting Wilmington College Tuesday evening before traveling to take on the University of Mount Union Saturday afternoon. Otterbein and Mount currently sit tied for second in the league standings.
Russell and fellow senior Renee Willke will be honored prior to starting time against Wilmington Tuesday evening as part of senior night.
