Volleyball downs Muskingum, 3-0

NEW CONCORD, OHIO – Junior Kristen Bennett recorded 13 kills and five blocks as the Otterbein University women's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win (25-14, 25-13, 25-9) at Muskingum University Tuesday evening. 

With the win, the Cardinals extend their winning streak to a season-high six matches to improve to 17-4, 2-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. The Muskies fall to 11-9 overall and 1-2 in the OAC with the loss.

Bennett finished with 13 kills on 27 attempts (.407) and tied her season-high block total with five. She also contributed on defense with six digs. Sophomore Annie Juenger and junior Ally Nagle added eight kills apiece. Freshman Tabatha Piper recorded 36 assists and also added seven kills in the winning effort.  

Senior Lindsey Russell paced the Cardinal defensive effort with 24 digs, while Piper and sophomore Emily Caldwell added 10 and six digs, respectively.

Otterbein returns home this weekend, Oct. 8, for a Saturday matinee with Baldwin-Wallace. Starting time is set for 1 p.m.
