UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OHIO – The Otterbein University women’s volleyball team took care of John Carroll University in three sets Tuesday evening, winning by scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-15.
The victory ups the Cardinals to 13-4 on the season and 1-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the loss drops JCU to 8-10 this fall and 0-2 against league foes.
Junior Kristen Bennett led the way offensively, totaling nine kills and just one error on 22 attempts (.364). Junior Ally Nagle and sophomores Annie Juenger and Liz Palmer all tallied six kills each.
Freshman setter Tabatha Piper dished out a match-high 27 assists.
Otterbein hit .209 for the match and held the Blue Streaks to just a 0.20 hitting percentage.
The team returns home for matches with Mount Vernon, Oberlin, and No. 3 Wittenberg spanning Thursday through Saturday. All matches are slated to begin at 7 p.m.
