Box Score

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein University men’s soccer suffered a conference loss to visiting Heidelberg University Saturday afternoon, falling 2-0 at Clements Field.

The win moves the Student Princes to 8-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, dropping the Cardinals to 4-8-1 this season, 0-4-1 in league play.

Heidelberg scored its first goal just 34 seconds into the match, winning a corner kick before Andrew Askren eventually found a loose ball in the box to score.

Heidelberg added its second goal shortly after when Tyler Eoff took a pass through the Otterbein defense and finished the shot over Cardinal goalkeeper Kyle Ripma. Ryan Smith was credited with an assist on the play.

Otterbein saw a handful of opportunistic shots just miss the target over the duration of the match, including a bicycle kick from sophomore Jared Pulliam in the 84th minute that trickled wide left.

Heidelberg finished with advantages in shots, 16-13, and corner kicks, 11-3. Ripma made four saves in the Otterbein net while Matthew Stevens posted two for the Student Princes.
