GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The Otterbein University women's cross country team placed 11th at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional hosted by Calvin College Saturday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Senior Kaila Cramer took home All-Great Lakes honors by finishing in the top 35. Cramer finished 30th in the field of 244 runners, covering the 6,000-meter course in 22:50.
Otterbein scored 307 points at the meet, which was won by host Calvin, with 54 points. Thirty-three teams competed for the regional championship.
"It was a good day for the Otterbein cross country teams," said head coach Scott Alpeter. "The women went from 23rd last year to 11th this year. Everyone ran well."
Also scoring for Otterbein were freshman Julissa Poullet, 43rd (23:02), freshman Meredith Wesco, 74th (23:39), sophomore Victoria Konkle, 83rd (23:47), and freshman Kiersten Lathrop, 87th (23:50).
The Cardinals placed ahead of Ohio Athletic Conference teams Heidelberg University (13th), Ohio Northern University (17th), Muskingum University (21st), and Baldwin Wallace University (22nd), but behind University of Mount Union (5th) and John Carroll University (9th).
