Women's Golf Captures ONU Spring Invite


Final Results

HARROD, Ohio - The Otterbein University women's golf team won the Ohio Northern Spring Invitational on Sunday, capping off the two-day event at Colonial Golfers Club by shooting a 568 to cruise past second-place ONU by 18 strokes.

Otterbein topped the field of five teams, placing four of its players in the top-10, after Saturday's portion of the event shortened to nine holes due to inclements weather. 

Junior Ann Jobko led the Cardinals, and the field of 33 competitors, shooting a 137 (48-89) over the course of 27 holes. Fellow junior Hannah Myers earned a share of fifth-place after firing a 142 (49-93), while senior Bailey Pontius finishd one stroke behind to place seventh with scores of 49 and 94.

Freshman Abby Grospitch tied for eighth-place with a 146 (47-99), while junior Elizabeth Haack and freshman Ashley Hayes rounded out the top-five finishers for the Cards in a five-way tie for 12th-place with respective scores of 152.

The Cardinals travel to Mill Creek next Saturday for a two-day invite hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
