Wamer third, Cardinals fifth at Shenandoah

BERKLEY SPRINGS, W. Va. – Led by a stellar weekend from Morgan Wamer, the Otterbein University women's golf team placed fifth of 17 teams at the Shenandoah Invitational. On Saturday, Wamer recorded a 79 before firing a 73 (152) in round two to finish third overall.

As a team, the Cardinals shot a 326 on Saturday before concluding the tournament with a 317 in Sunday's round for a two-day total of 643.

Junior Olivia Dickson carded a 77 in the opening round before ending the weekend with an 83 on Sunday (160). She tied for 11th in the field. Aimee Hayes was next for Otterbein, seeing a 5-stroke improvement between rounds (85-80 – 165). Two strokes back was Mia Chanthasene, who totaled rounds of 86-81 – 167.

With scores of 85-88 – 173, Mia Lewis rounded out the team scoring. Hailey McKenzie competed as an individual, scoring an 88 Saturday before shaving six strokes for an 83 on Sunday (171).

The Cardinals will compete next at the OAC Fall Preview, hosted at River Greens Golf Course Sep. 26-27.
