WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein women's basketball team dominated the rebounding margin and got back on the winning track Wednesday night with a 71-56 win over John Carroll in the team's 'Think Pink' Night for Breast Cancer Awareness inside the Rike Center.
Otterbein (9-11 overall) improves to 5-8 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play and will begin a two-game road trip Saturday when it travels to Baldwin Wallace. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Berea, Ohio.

Kiersten Taylor, the reigning OAC Player of the Week, who went 5-of-5 from the field as she led all scorers with 11 points.
Otterbein extended its lead to 36-27 at the break, shooting 44 percent from the field while also holding a 27-10 advantage in rebounding. The Cardinals dominated the quarter, leading all but 33 seconds, seeing their lead go to as many as 12 points with a minute remaining in the half.
Freshman
Abbie Scholz aided the Cardinals' advantage on the boards with a team-high nine at the half, while Taylor paced the game in scoring with 11 points.
The Cards maintained their lead throughout the entire third period as both teams came out of halftime scoring quickly, before regaining a 12-point lead heading into the final 10 minutes of action. Otterbein leaned on its rebounding to help maintain the lead throughout the final quarter, narrowly outscoring the Blue Streaks, 15-13.
Taylor led all scorers with 22 points, going 9-of-11 from the field with eight rebounds and a pair of assists. Sophomore
Dani Kissel followed with 19 points on 8-of-14 from the field and five rebounds, while Scholz led the game with a career-high 13 rebounds.
Otterbein ended the game with a 42-26 advantage in points in the paint, while also owning an 18-8 margin in bench points led by senior
Taylor Pifher's eight points and nine boards.
