FINAL RESULTS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior
Allison Currey wrapped up her four-year cross country stretch at Otterbein with one last race Saturday morning, representing the Cardinals on the national stage in the NCAA Division III Championships held at Tom Sawyer State Park.
Currey, who received an individual at-large qualifier spot earlier this week, covered the 6K distance in a time of 23:17 to mar her third NCAA appearance. She finished 165th of 277 total runners this time around, marking an improvement each year at the national meet.
Otterbein qualified as a team each of the previous two years, but Currey laced up by herself this time around to keep a Cardinal jersey in the race. She concludes a fall season that saw her finish 11th at the All-Ohio, seventh at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships and 15th at the recent Great Lakes Regional.
Johns Hopkins won the meet for another national title, while Parley Hannan of Ithaca took the individual crown in a time of 20:53.
Currey and her Cardinal teammates will now gear up for indoor track season, with the full scheduled slated to ramp up in January.
