BEVERLY, Ohio – The Otterbein women's golf team finished second, with a score of 685, in its first match since returning from spring break nearly three weeks ago and finished eight strokes back of first place.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cardinals were able to finish second due to top six finishes from Lyndsay Blum and Abby Grospitch.
- Blum finished second overall with a total of 160, as the freshman was only bested by a Division II golfer. Grospitch shot an 83 on the first day and stayed consistent by shooting an 85 on day two of the Classic.
- Maddie Durbin finished third for the Cardinals, as she bounced back on the second day by shooting an 85.
- Meg Thomas and Abby Chilcoat rounded out the Cardinal lineup by both shooting a 181.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Blum went into the weekend averaging 82.5 and improved her average to 80.8 for the season.
- Viv George finished T-16th by shooting a 181, as she played as an individual. The freshman shot six strokes better than her season avergae on day two.
- Otterbein finished 15 strokes ahead of Captial, 69 shots better than Marietta and defeated Heidelberg by 70 strokes.

Otterbein will participate in the Mount St. Joseph Classic next weekend at the Miami Whitewater Golf Course.
