Women's golf in second after first round at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – With a day one total of 343, the Otterbein University women's golf team sits in second place at the Wittenberg Fall Classic. The Cardinals are second out of seven teams, only trailing the host Tigers.

Sophomore Alayna Meyer led the Cardinals with an 80. She currently ranks fourth overall heading into Tuesday's round. Just three strokes back is Alexa Luebbe who recorded an 83, good for sixth overall.

Freshman Mia Lewis is tied for 11th overall after shooting an 87 on Monday. Both Morgan Wamer and Mia Chantasene registered a 90, while Aimee Hayes rounded out the Cardinals with a 91.

The competition wraps up on Tuesday with the second round of the two-day tournament.
