Women's golf takes second at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Seeing a drastic 15-stroke improvement from Monday to Tuesday, the Otterbein women's golf team placed second at the Wittenberg Fall Invitational. As a team, the Cardinals shot a 328 on Tuesday to end with a 671 for the tournament. 

After carding a 77 on Tuesday, Alayna Meyer finished with a 157 for the tournament. The sophomore placed third overall in the event. Also finishing inside the top five was Alexa Luebbe. Coming off an 83 on Monday, Luebbe recorded an 82 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 165, tying for fifth. 

Freshman Mia Lewis finished 11th, posting a 171 for the event after an 84 in the second round. The 84 is a new collegiate career-low for Lewis. Sophomore Morgan Wamer saw a six stroke improvement from Monday to Tuesday, shooting an 84 on day two to end with a 174. She tied for 13th overall. 

Aimee Hayes also saw a six stroke improvement, ending with an 85 after registering a 91 on Monday. She shot a 176 overall and tied for 16th. Rounding out the team was Mia Chanthasene, who tied for 21st after ending with a 90 in both rounds.

The Cardinals will conclude the fall portion of their schedule Nov. 3 at the Polar Bear Classic.
