FINAL RESULTS
COSHOCTON, Ohio – The Otterbein women's golf team finished third at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships, as
Meg Thomas and
Abby Grospitch earned All-OAC honors.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mount Union led the pack by shooting an impressive 993, Capital placed second overall with a team final of 1040, as Otterbein rounded out the top three with a score of 1046. Ohio Northern and Heidelberg placed behind the Cardinals with team rounds of 1065 and 1068.
- Rachel Markle of Mount Union led the field by shooting 241 and took home top-medalist honors. Grospitch and Thomas tied for 10th overall, as each individual shot 259 for the weekend.
- Maddie Durbin's first round score of 84 was tied for the lowest round by any Cardinal, as Grospitch and Lyndsay Blum each shot an 84 for the second round. Durbin finished the weekend tied for 15th by shooting a 262.
- Blum finished tied for 18th by shooting 88, 84 and 96, good for a final of 268. The freshman placed fourth on the team, as Abby Chilcoat rounded out the Cardinal five by shooting 275 over the course of 54 holes.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Cardinals have now placed inside the top three at the OAC Championships for the past decade.
- Grospitch has now been an All-OAC performer three times, as the senior has finished t-10th, fourth and fifth at the OAC Championships over the course of the past three seasons.
- Thomas garnered All-OAC honors after finishing 15th overall last year at the OAC Championships.
- Blum had the best score by any freshman in the conference.
