KENT, Ohio – The Otterbein women's basketball team took on Division I Kent State University Tuesday morning as part of a holiday exhibition for the Cardinals, who gained valuable experience against the Golden Flashes as part of "Education Day" inside the M.A.C Center.
Education Day, a knowledge initiative presented by PSI, aims to teach disseminate comprehensive skills to young students.
The Cardinals, playing without starters
Katie McCrary (injury) and
Natalie Allen (illness), fought hard throughout despite the game not counting toward their official record.
Senior
Natalie Galaida posted 12 points and a game-high four assists off the bench. Freshman
Ella Nagel had six points and five rebounds, including four on the offensive side.
Kent State used a big first-half run and improved to 7-3 on the season, which includes a road win at Oklahoma State last month.
Otterbein will have some time off to enjoy the holidays before getting back to action come December 29-30 at Ohio Wesleyan's "Hoops for Hope" Classic.
