Esports wraps up fall portion of schedule

The final week of the regular season for the Otterbein esports team, competing in NACE, was a packed week for all titles highlighted by two in-person matches with Ohio Wesleyan University.

Otterbein Overwatch finished the season with two wins this week. On Monday, the Cardinals mounted a come-from-behind victory, defeating Ohio Wesleyan 3-2. The reverse-sweep was spearheaded by senior tank Ben Sommer, who earned 146 eliminations in the last three maps. Freshman Pierce Luyster was also crucial to the victory playing his signature hero, Venture. The Cards closed out their season on Tuesday with a 3-1 defeat of Cleary University. Senior Jalen Leavell stepped into the support role for the first time this season, healing more than 35,000 damage across two maps. Otterbein Overwatch finished on a three-game winning streak and ended this semester's competition at 3-4.

Valorant took on Kettering University and fell 2-0 with map losses of 13-8 and 13-11. Freshman Santi Camacho (GameTr) played well in both games. For their regular season finale, Valorant played Cleary University and won 2-0 to finish the season 3-4. Junior Cayden Lassiter (Soda) had a great series going 33/29.

Smash faced off against Ohio Wesleyan University and fell 2-0 Freshman Ross Gerckens (Ssorian) was a standout and kept Otterbein within striking distance, but ultimately came up short.

The Rainbow Six Siege team started off their week in the ECAC and lost to nationally ranked Kentucky 2-0 to snap Rainbow 6's six-game win streak. Freshman Landon Chalfant (nastee) went 21/16 throughout the two games. For the second game of the week in Midwest R6 the Cardinals fell to Illinois State, 2-1.
