Women's soccer set to host OAC Semifinal on Thursday

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – After winning a share of the OAC Regular Season title for the first time since 2021, the Otterbein University women's soccer team will host an OAC Semifinal match on Thursday, Nov. 6 at Memorial Stadium. The No. 5 seed Ohio Northern will pay a visit to Westerville after a 1-1 (5-3 PKs) decision at Mount Union in Tuesday's quarterfinal match.
SCOUTING No. 1 OTTERBEIN (8-6-3, 4-2-2 OAC): The Cardinals are led by senior Rae Ehrbar's nine goals. While the nine goals are a team-best, she is one of 11 players who have scored at least one goal this season. Senior Kylie Hast anchors a back line that has conceded just six goals throughout OAC play – and just two in their last five games. Ella Schwertfager has been tremendous in goal, recording 59 saves and four clean sheets.

SCOUTING No. 5 OHIO NORTHERN (7-8-3, 4-3-1 OAC): ONU clinched the No. 5 seed and advanced on penalty kicks Tuesday at Mount Union. Maddie Montgomery scored the lone goal for the Polar Bears in the 53rd minute before the Purple Raiders netted the equalizer, forcing overtime and PKs. Ohio Northern scored on all five penalty kicks to advance to the semifinals, setting up a rematch of the 2024 semifinal.

In the regular season matchup, the Polar Bears edged out Otterbein, 1-0 in Ada. The Cardinals held the advantage in shots and corners, but a goal in the 60th minute by the hosts proved to be enough.

On the other side of the bracket, Wilmington travels to Capital for the second semifinal.
