WESTERVILLE – Otterbein senior Peyton Carpenter was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of March 17-23.

The recognition comes after she posted strong performances in a very competitive field featuring athletes from all divisions at the Charlotte 49er Classic on Friday and Saturday as the Cardinals opened their 2025 outdoor season.

Carpenter was the top Division III finisher in the javelin, posting a mark of 35.91 meters to place eighth behind four Division I, two Division II and one unattached competitor in the 38-woman field.

She added a 21st-place finish of 42 competitors in the shot put, posting a mark of 11.52 meters.

A two-time Academic All-OAC honoree, Carpenter earned All-OAC recognition in the javelin as a freshman at the 2022 OAC Outdoor Championships.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday at the Denison Lid-Lifter.
