CANAL WINCHESTER — The Otterbein women's golf team finished strong, defeating Capital 9-1 across the fall and spring match play events to take home the Oar in the War for the Oar on Thursday.

The Basics

• Venue: West Chester Golf Course - Canal Winchester, Ohio
• The event utilized match play-style scoring.
• Otterbein won the women's fall match play 5-1 at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury and took Thursday's spring match 4-0.

Head-to-Head Results

• Freshman Alayna Meyer closed out her fall continuation match and followed it with a 3 & 2 win over Emma Konopa, clinching the spring match on hole 16. 
• Sophomore Aimee Hayes won 1 up over Camryn Mauter, sealing the match on the final hole. 
• Junior Alexa Luebbe earned a fall victory by concession before dominating her spring match with a 9 & 8 win over Hanna Combs, finishing on hole 10. 
• Senior Alivia Baus won 7 & 5 over Reese King, closing it out on hole 13. 

Notables

• Entering Thursday, Meyer (79.0) and Baus (84.1) led the Cardinals in 18-hole scoring averages among those with at least 15 rounds played this season.
• Meyer entered Thursday with a season-best 18-hole score of 74 to lead the team. She has two wins and six top-five finishes this season.
• Luebbe, Hayes and Baus are reigning All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorees.
• Otterbein has won three of the past 10 OAC championships (2015, 2022, 2023) and has finished as the OAC runner-up six times in that span.
• Head coach Brian Booher is a three-time OAC Coach of the Year in women's golf and has guided four OAC individual champions (2014, 2015, 2017, 2022).
