BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. – The Otterbein University women's golf team climbed the leaderboard on Sunday at the Shenandoah Invitational, finishing fifth out of 13 teams with a two-day total of +76. The Cardinals carded a +32 in the final round at Cacapon Resort State Park to move up from their opening-day position.
Sophomore Alayna Meyer continued her strong start to the season, placing fifth individually with a 153 (+9) after shooting 79 (+7) on day two. Sophomore Morgan Wamer surged up the standings as well, delivering a team-best 78 (+6) in the final round to finish at 162 (+18).
Senior Alexa Luebbe turned in an 80 (+8) on Sunday to conclude at 168 (+24), while junior Aimee Hayes (87, +15) and sophomore Mia Chanthasene (83, +11) rounded out the team scoring with totals of 173 (+29) and 172 (+28), respectively.
Three Cardinals also competed as individuals. Freshman Mia Lewis posted the top mark with a 172 (+27) after shooting 86 (+14) on Sunday. Lauren Griffith followed with 185 (+41), and Hailey McKenzie closed her weekend at 187 (+43).
