DELAWARE, Ohio – Competing Friday evening at the Ohio Wesleyan Tune-Up Meet, the Otterbein University track and field teams turned in a strong showing in their final regular indoor season competition. The meet was not team scored.
On the track, freshman Quintin Conrad led the way in the men's 500m, capturing first place in a personal-best 1:09.13. Sophomore Grant Hartley followed in second (1:09.98).
Junior Ian Chapman claimed the 800m title in 2:02.70, while senior Gavin Kelly placed third (2:03.84). In the 1000m, sophomore Henry Barnes finished first in 2:40.37, with senior Brady Williams taking second (2:46.17).
Sophomore Tucker See recorded a personal-best 4:35.40 to finish third in the mile, while sophomore Brannon Moser placed fifth (4:42.96). In the 3000m, freshmen Spencer Grace (9:43.58) and James Vasselo (9:46.56) each posted personal-best times to finish second and third, respectively.
In the sprints, freshman Brandon Curry Jr. placed third in the 60m dash in 7:22 after running a personal best of 7.21 in prelims. Junior Izaac Swope finished fourth in 7.23 following personal best of a 7.17 prelim effort. Curry later added a personal-best 23.21 in the 200m to finish fourth, while Swope ran a personal-best 23.36 to place fifth.
Freshman Jackson Steider recorded a personal-best 8.46 to finish second in the 60m hurdles. Junior Cam Smart placed third (8.61), and freshman Logan Smith added a fifth-place finish (8.96). Smith also finished second in the 400m with a time of 53.45.
On the women's side, Otterbein swept the 500m event. Sophomore Mallory Bostick won in a personal-best 1:24.78, followed by senior Rachel Bollo (1:25.85) and junior Allie Mongold, who posted a personal-best 1:25.99.
Sophomore Macy Etienne finished second in the 400m (1:06.82), while sophomore Kylie Brandt placed third in the 800m (2:40.78). In the 1000m, sophomores Laurie Baughman (3:35.20) and Maggie Moon (3:43.27) went one-two.
The women's 3000m featured only Otterbein competitors, with freshman Ella Degenhard winning in a personal-best 10:40.91 and senior Rachel Ziel finishing second in a personal-best 11:10.47.
In the field events, sophomore Joab Bockstoce cleared 1.95m to win the high jump, with junior Gabe Scialdone finishing second (1.90m). Sophomore Wyatt Slack placed second in the long jump (6.06m).
On the women's side, senior Charlie Dolliver captured the triple jump title with a personal-best mark of 11.19m and later added a runner-up finish in the 60m hurdles (9.39). Freshman Addy Westbrooks placed second in the long jump with a personal-best 4.93m and finished second in the triple jump (9.87m). Junior Hannah Green added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (4.60m).
The women's 4x400m relay team of Addy Westbrooks, Sienna Westbrooks, Bollo and Brandt closed the meet with a time of 4:29.08.
The Cardinals will compete next at the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by Heidelberg University on February 27–28.
