ASHLAND, Ohio – Competing against a deep field of Division I, II, III, and club programs, the Otterbein University indoor track and field teams turned in several strong Division III performances Saturday at the Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational, held inside the Niss Athletic Center.
Senior Charlie Dolliver highlighted the day in the pentathlon, scoring 3,127 points to finish fifth overall and first among Division III competitors. Her total also set a new school record in the event.
In the women's weight throw, sophomore Anastasia Smith captured first place with a personal-best mark of 15.27 meters, moving her to second all-time in Otterbein history. Junior Amelia Dailey followed with a 13.50-meter throw to place fifth overall.
Freshman Mimi Wegener cleared 3.40 meters in the pole vault, finishing fifth overall and second in the Division III standings. The mark was a personal record and places her ninth on the program's all-time list. In the long jump, freshman Addison Westbrook recorded a leap of 4.64 meters, finishing 12th overall and first among Division III athletes.
On the men's side, senior Payne Ratliff placed fifth overall in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:15.25, earning the top Division III finish. Junior Brady Pugh followed in ninth with a personal-best 15:24.62, good for second in Division III.
In the pole vault, junior Joe Hill cleared 4.50 meters to place 10th overall and first among Division III competitors, while freshman Cinjin Gibson recorded a personal-best 3.90 meters to finish 16th overall and second in Division III.
Freshman Logan Smith led the way in the 200-meter dash, clocking a personal-best 22.91 to win the event. Fellow freshman Quintin Conrad ran 23.57, finishing eighth overall and third among Division III runners.
Rounding out the meet, sophomore Joab Bockstoce cleared 1.96 meters in the high jump, placing 10th overall and first in the Division III standings.
The Cardinals return to action Saturday, Feb. 14, hosting the All-Ohio Indoor Championships.
