Luebbe earns medalist honors, women's golf wins Muskingum Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio – Alexa Luebbe led the Otterbein University women's golf team to its second consecutive win of the spring season, earning medalist honors at the Muskingum Invitational.

Luebbe saw a five stroke improvement between rounds for a two day total of 82-77 – 159. The senior's round of 77 on Monday was a season-best score.

The Cardinals shot a 344 on Sunday before finishing the tournament with a 336 on Monday for a final score of 680. Dating back to the fall, the Cardinals have finished first or second in six straight events, winning three straight.

Luebbe's medalist honors led the pack, while Olivia Dickson and Morgan Wamer each tied for fifth. Dickson finished with an 85-90 – 175 while Wamer saw an 11-stroke improvement from Sunday to Monday, shooting a 93-82 – 175. Junior Aimee Hayes placed seventh with scores of 86-90 – 176, as Mia Chanthasene rounded out the team, carding a 91-87 – 178 to tie for eighth.

Mia Lewis and Hailey McKenzie represented Otterbein as individuals. Lewis shot a 96-89 – 185 and McKenzie totaled a 95-96 – 191.

Next Monday, the Cardinals will host the Otterbein Easter Leftovers Tournament at NorthStar Golf Club.
