WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University track and field teams turned in a strong showing while hosting the Otterbein Twilight Meet on Friday, with the men's squad placing fourth out of 23 teams (60 points) and the women finishing seventh out of 19 teams (44.5 points).
Seniors were recognized throughout the meet as part of Senior Day. The men's group included Alec Spangler, Jonny Powers, Payne Ratliff, Gavin Kelly, and David Hartman, while the women honored Rachel Ziel, Amelia Dailey, Keerstin Farson-Mantor, Rachel Bollo, and Charlie Dolliver.
On the track, the Cardinals saw multiple strong finishes across distance and hurdle events. Sophomore Tucker See led the men's distance group with a third-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:43.40), while Ratliff added a seventh-place showing in the mile (4:25.59). Hartman also secured seventh in the 5000 meters (15:56.04).
Freshman Logan Smith posted a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (55.66), matching junior Izaac Swope's fifth-place effort in the 110-meter hurdles (14.53). The Otterbein "B" 4x400-meter relay team of Ian Chapman, Julius Jones, Vince Catalano, and Spangler added a seventh-place result (3:31.79).
For the women, Dolliver highlighted the hurdle group with a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles (14.67), a mark that moved them to sixth on Otterbein's all-time list. In distance events, freshman Ollie Smith placed fourth in the fast section of the 5000 meters (18:04.55), moving into ninth on the program's all-time list, while sophomore Maggie Poor took eighth overall (19:47.42). Sophomore Brenna Lay added an eighth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:20.74), and freshmen Grace Blonde and Kate Thormeier placed eighth and ninth, respectively, in the mile.
Otterbein also made its mark in the field events, led by junior Richmond Honkpo's victory in the long jump with a mark of 7.38 meters. Honkpo followed with a runner-up finish in the triple jump (13.93m), where he was joined by teammates Malvin Long (6th, 12.56m) and Gabriel Scialdone (8th, 11.64m).
Sophomore Joab Bockstoce cleared 2.03 meters in the high jump to place third and move onto Otterbein's all-time list, while junior Joe Hill took second in the pole vault (4.60m), tying for eighth all-time in program history. Freshman Connor Reifenberger placed seventh in the event (4.50m), and sophomore Jaret Harting added a seventh-place finish in the long jump (6.78m).
For the women, Dolliver turned in a record-setting performance, breaking Otterbein's program record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.91 meters. Dolliver also placed second in the 100-meter hurdles (14.67), moving into sixth on the program's all-time list.. Freshman Addy Westbrooks earned a third-place finish in the high jump (1.57m), while Sienna Westbrooks placed seventh (1.52m). In the throwing events, sophomore Anastasia Smith recorded a fourth-place mark in the shot put (12.24m), and junior Amelia Dailey placed seventh in the hammer throw (46.57m).
Otterbein returns to action April 24–25 at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open in Ashland, Ohio.
