Women's golf ties for first in home invitational

SUNBURY, OhioAimee Hayes shot a 79 to tie for medalist honors, as the Otterbein University women's golf team tied for first at the Otterbein Easter Leftovers tournament. As a team, Otterbein shot a 335 to tie with Ohio Northern in the six team invitational.

Hayes needed a six hole playoff to break the tie for medalist honors with Mount Union's Amanda Fedor. 

Hayes led the Cardinals with her 79, followed by Alexa Luebbe's 83, earning her fourth place. Morgan Wamer was next for Otterbein, carding an 85 to tie for seventh overall. Both Mia Chanthasene and Olivia Dickson shot 88s on Monday, tying for 13th in the event. Freshman Mia Lewis rounded out the team scoring, ending the day with a 91. Hailey McKenzie represented Otterbein as an individual, shooting a 91. 

This marks the fourth straight tournament the Cardinals have won, dating back to fall competition. 

Next Monday, Otterbein will compete in the OAC Spring Invitational at River Greens Golf Course.
