Honkpo, Dolliver named Field MVP, track and field completes OAC Championships

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Richmond Honkpo and Charlie Dolliver swept the OAC Field Athlete of the Year honors as the Otterbein University track and field teams turned in strong performances at the OAC Outdoor Championships. Both teams finished fourth overall, with the women scoring 100 points and the men tallying 97.

Honkpo led the way with a dominant win in the triple jump, recording a mark of 13.53 meters. Dolliver completed the sweep for Otterbein, capturing the women's triple jump title with a leap of 11.55 meters.

On the track, junior Izaac Swope claimed the 110-meter hurdles title with a winning time of 14.34.

Competition began Thursday with Connor Reifenberger and Joe Hill tying for fourth in the pole vault, each clearing 4.46 meters. Landry Driskel secured Otterbein's first event victory, winning the women's discus with a throw of 41.12 meters. On the men's side, freshman Lisbon James placed sixth (41.80m).

Dolliver added a third-place finish in the long jump (5.31m), while Honkpo was runner-up in the men's event (6.93m).

In distance events, Brady Pugh finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (PR, 9:27.01), while Brenna Lay placed third on the women's side (PR, 11:41.92). Payne Ratliff earned a runner-up finish in the 10,000-meter run (31:05.02), with Corey Rafferty (sixth, 31:54.14) and Rachel Ziel (fifth, PR, 39:16.20) also scoring.

The men's 4x800-meter relay team placed fifth (7:55.75), while the women's squad took fourth (9:45.95).

Friday action began with Anastasia Smith placing third in the shot put (12.85m). Honkpo's triple jump victory highlighted the field events, with Malvin Long also scoring in fifth (12.37m).
In the high jump, Addison Westbrooks placed seventh on the women's side (1.50m). Joab Bockstoce led the men with a third-place finish (2.00m), while Gabe Scialdone added a seventh-place effort (1.81m).

The men's 4x100-meter relay team finished fourth (42.45), and the women's team placed fifth (50.24).

Otterbein saw strong depth in the women's 1500 meters, with Ava Stratmann (fourth, 4:50.43), Ella Degenhard (fifth, PR, 4:51.68), and Ollie Smith (sixth, PR, 4:52.48) all scoring.

Dolliver took second in the 100-meter hurdles (14.59). Jackson Steider ran a PR of 15.20 to earn sixth in the 110m hurdles, while Sienna Westbrooks placed fifth in the 400 meters (PR, 59.13).


Freshman Logan Smith delivered a runner-up, personal best finish in the 400-meter hurdles (54.69), while Dolliver placed fifth in the women's race (1:07.01).

Ratliff added a sixth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (15:04.56). On the women's side, Kate Thormeier led the way with a runner-up finish and a PR (17:48.42), followed by Smith in fifth (18:10.00).

The meet concluded with the men's 4x400-meter relay team placing sixth (3:22.98). The women's team placed third, capping off the All-OAC honorees. Any individual or relay that finished inside he top three collected All-OAC status. With both teams finishing ahead of Capital, the outdoor track and field Oar remains in Otterbein's possession.
 
Select members will compete in upcoming Last Chance meets for a shot at qualifying for Division III Nationals.
